Saint Jude

Daily prayer
to St. Jude

O kindSaint-Jude, our faithful intercessor to Jesus, receive the following special intentions : to present them to the Almighty Lord, Root of all good. Above all, grant us an increase of our faith in His love. May each day find us closer in our relationship with our Heavenly Father. KindSaint-Jude, you who has revived hope in our hearts, you whose model merits and life bring us the divine blessings and graces, be our advocate, and lead us to Jesus and Mary. With you, blessed apostle, we give thanks and praise God with all our heart for His innumerable kindnesses. Amen.

The Monthly Note

May 2013

by Marcel Dumont, OP

Dear friends ofSaint-Jude,

Finally the month of May! And like the song goes: «Tis the month of our Mother, the blessed and beautiful days, when our lips and our spirits are glowing with love and with praise! »  With this spring month, we are awaiting some revival. The tough months are behind us and we welcome the life being born and abounding everywhere; and, let’s also hope, that abounds revival in our hearts and our lives thanks to the Paschal Time that was given to us.  Just like the Immaculate Virgin, we remain in the Hope and surely awaiting the “Life”, that comes from the Spirit, in the Risen Jesus.

Jesus died on the Cross precisely to pass to us this life in fullness that comes from the TRINITY and that is offered to us by the presence of the Spirit.  Saint John clearly tells us in his Gospel: « Bowing His head he gave up His spirit ».  Of course, our Lord gave up His spirit, His human spirit and all His being, in the hands of His father, but, with Saint John, this means that He gave up the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of promise, on the World, on the Church, and it’s Mary that welcomed Him for the first time at the foot of the Cross.  She welcomed not only Jesus in her motherly arms, but also the Spirit according to her complete maternity, for us.  Mary plays an important part in the coming of the Spirit.  It’s as if the Holy Spirit found in Mary a prominent dwelling, and that He never ceases to rest upon her to give Himself to the World and to the Church in a privileged way.  Mary and the Spirit are one, they work together in a unique maternal mission for the salvation of the entire humanity.

In this month of May, may we, in the shadow of the ApostleSaint-Jude, who personally knew the Mother of Jesus and the coming of the Spirit of Pentecost, live awaiting this effusion, effusion of life, the same Life of God.  May the Solemnity of Pentecost be for us a joy like no other in each of our lives, lives in the hope of Divine Life!
