Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

by Marcel Dumont, OP

Dear friends ofSaint-Jude,

It is with great pleasure that I am writing you this letter so that I may introduce myself.  On October 1st, our religious Province, the Province of Saint Dominic of Canada, entrusted in me what you know as  Saint-Jude Apostolic Works.  Therefore, here I am the new director of this apostolic mission and I have the desire undertake a bit of a revival.  To do so, Father Ovila Bélanger, a brother of pastoral experience has generously accepted to help me.  We are also lucky to rely on our three experienced employees, in the persons of Mrs Gisèle Hébert, Mrs Lise Vézina and Mr Tony Cicci ; and also on brother Paul-André Tremblay, o.p., sacristan.  We currently work in French and English, however, I can already inform you that in forthcoming months we will begin to work also in Spanish.

Dear friends of the great apostleSaint-Jude, how can I begin to thank you for your generosity and your fidelity.  With deep beliefs in this apostolic mission, I know for certain that this great saint has never let you down with by his intercession.  We call him the Apostle of hope, and it is right to do so.  Already, with my short experience, this ministry makes me believe, from deep inside, that the Saint-Jude Apostolic Works are a mission of great potential, and that it is our duty to work hard to make it known even more.

Finally, with this letter, I would like – and also from all the staff – offer you our  Warmest wishes of a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  For us, and according to our religious tradition, these wishes have a deep meaning and are filled with many blessings.  Furthermore, I would like to  offer them to you through the intercession of the Queen of the Holy Rosary and ofSaint-Jude.  Yes, may this New Year that is upon us, be one of great blessing for each and every one of you.  And rest assured of our daily prayers. It is our duty and our mission of hope to each and every one of you.

With this letter, receive a special blessing for the 2012 Holiday Season, it is the grace I am asking the Mother of God andSaint-Jude!
